Punditry — or Pun-di-tree — is a series of art installations involving a pun and a tree near the corner of Ohio Avenue and La Follette Avenue in the 53704 zip code. Launched in April 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic was heating up, the series is also available on Instagram @punditrymsn.
In the generic, punditry is the expression of expertise in a subject or field. A pun is a play on words, or the use of a word or words formed or sounded alike in a way that juxtaposes, connects, or brings out applications of the word or words, usually in a humorous way.
If you, gentle reader, don’t get the joke, a link to the “answer” appears at the bottom of the installation’s post, accessible by clicking on the image or linked text.
