A peaceful morning -- before the demolition.

The house project at 133 Ohio
The demolition begins

Above: The
kitchen ceiling joists. Note the 2 x 4.
Left: Where the kitchen sink used to
be, looking into the former study.

The study ceiling. How about those 2x4 joists on a
2-foot span? This means we can't use a flush beam, so a five-inch
beam will come down from the ceiling. Now we know why the upstairs
bathroom has that funky step.

Left: Then
there's that fun knob-and-tube wiring. Below: Nothing like
a room that feels open.

Some sort of coal chute or something? Behind this
wall is the half bath.

By the end of the day Monday, only the toilet remained.
