Metamorphosis of the upstairs bathroom
|
Left: The old bathroom shower.
Above: The new bathtub and new durock await the Vendura
solid surface.
|
|
Left: The new bathroom sink on top of the
old cabinet. Note the new toilet in the mirror.
Water was restored to the house after two
days. We had to turn off the water in order to remove the sink so
the riser of the step could be resurfaced. Oh, and now there's a
working toilet upstairs. How civilized.
|
A working toilet. What a treat.
|
The shower doors are on order, but the bathtub
works. That Vendura solid surface
is pretty nice.

The shower has been usable for several weeks
after some negotiations with Vendura about finishing seams and quality
of the caulking job. Tony from Vendura came and redid much of the
caulk and installed several finished pieces. All that was resolved
equitably. The shower door was installed short thereafter, but now
is experiencing minor leaks. One is that water seems to be collecting
inside the door and then draining out, especially when the door
is moved, even after as much as 24 hours have passed since the shower
was run. Jason of Bob Cooper Glass, who came Thursday, Aug. 14,
to look over the situation said he has never seen that, but he did
some caulking and said to call him if the problem persists.
